I have been so fortunate to be the parent mentor for a group of four middle school girls (calling themselves Team Intrikit) who made an Android app called “AiBO” to help people communicate and regulate emotions. Over the past four months, these girls started from scratch with an idea and worked really hard with their mentor from Google to produce and pitch their product for the Technovation Challenge, a global technology competition for girls. Their team formed as part of an effort by Girls Innovate! to organize families in the community who may enjoy participating in the Technovation Challenge.
Aibo means “Pal” or “Partner” in Japanese.
